Covid hit Europe hard. Borders were closed. Nationalism was on the rise. European cities were empty. With the Vienna Tourist Board, we took a bold stand against that. We started an initiative designed to bring back the European idea: United Cities of Tourism. The first tourism campaign by a city. For other cities.  For every 100th tourist in Vienna,  we sent a Viennese on a trip to become a tourist in another European city.  Little did we expect, that our initiative would become a European movement: As the tourist boards from Milan, Barcelona, London, Berlin and Paris joined United Cities of Tourism.
